Strategy
*Strategies are a work in progress. Feel relieve to edit the page and add yours.
Recommendations
The "Shield Camper" strategy (works to about NG++ before you deman to switch scheme or get a stronger weapon system)
Line that this is a Real EASY WAY TO BEAT THE Burned-out IVORY Top executive WITHOUT Very much EFFORT!!!
Note likewise that the Charren Loyce Knights drop Loyce Souls, which you need in rank to get the Armor of the Ivory King (50 Loyce Souls, and then talk to Alsanna)
1. Cite (somehow not found from anywhere else in this page)
- Twiglike Shei can exist summoned for this defend (cite sign is set most the altar in the Grand Cathedral)
- Lucatiel of Mirrah can be summoned for this fight (summon sign is located near Grand Duomo bonfire, stairs ahead and look in the middle)
- The summons are just healthpools (and occasional staggerers) during the bossfight.
- Information technology's extremely unrecommended to summon NPCs for this BOSS, who has some AoE attacks that means NPCs are unlikely to suck in so much legal injury for you.
2. Loyce Knights (they will help most in this conflict!)
- There are 4 Loyce Knights, united provided by Alsanna, located in the room with the fog room access leading to the Old Chaos.
- 3 Loyce Knights are distributed around Eleum Loyce, you should just explore and you'll discovery them. (you'll get a ton of air-conditioned sh*t patc looking em')
- Take note that NONE OF THE LOYCE KNIGHTS ARE Situated IN Wintry OUTSKIRTS.
- A little guide is that to each one of the erst frozen paths should lead to a knight. They're rather deep within the paths so try to explore thoroughly. There is only one horse in each path.
- The Loyce Knights will make for an important theatrical role in the bossfight. 3 of the knights bequeath seal the portals (that engender infinite Charred Loyce Knights) and the leftover one (with a nice healthpool) will stay with you to fight the boss.
3. Weapon system, shield, and armor. (great grandness what you wear)
- The most important item in that bossfight is the shield (think it operating theatre not) and the shield i used (and the one i suggest) is Havel's Greatshield, infused with Magic. (blocks around 98% of melee and magic, so the Burnt Ivory Tycoo's limited attacks preceptor't really deal some damage to you. Also very stable)
- The next about 'important' item (you don't need a arm, merely just the shield. APPLIES Alone UNTIL NG+) You should pick a weapon that's long and quick, like Laundry Perch, or Sir Alonne's Bewitched Sword. Besides Avelyn with darkling/lightning bolts or dark/lightning magic industrial plant perfectly)
- Any rapier with dark/lightning resin should work out only elegant. Do bring Renovate Powders since it'll be quite an unsound battle.
- Armor... Non much needful for the boss, but if you'atomic number 75 planning to attack, or just induce low stamina and cant very block much, use armour like Havel's Put across(melee def) or the Bedlam Set(magic def)
- I intimate using Redeye flight Closed chain when there's only Charren Loyce Knights (remove the pack when the honcho comes, unless you consider in your block skills plenty)
- I suggest using Ring of Blades +2 which provides a good addition to your legal injury end product.
- I also suggest victimization Chloranthy Annulus +2 then you can quickly recover your stamina to block some mo'
4. Formulation
Nowadays you probably enquire what's waiting for you behind the becloud door, in the hole depressed there? It's Old Chaos, and it's full of nasty Charren Loyce Knights, both lava, and 3 portals that spawn those b**tards till they'Re shut. (yes, they just keep climax and coming if the portals aren't concealed)
- 3 portals that spawn unnumberable amount of Charren Loyce Knights (if killed enough of them without the portals being shut, the knob will engender, and you'll follow fighting a sh*t-ton of Charren Loyce Knights among the Burnt Ivory King. If you have 3 operating room more Loyce Knights, they will eventually (afterward killing like 5-7 Charren Loyce Knights) go and seal a portal (1 Loyce Knight per portal) (You'll notice they're preparing to seal a portal vein when their sword flashes in dismal and a blue atmosphere surrounds them)
- The Charren Loyce Knights are either Melee or Magic, the Battle royal versions exploitation mostly swords and axes, and the Mages using only when Pyromancies, primarily just Fireball, Fire Snake, and Combustion.
5. The pre-bossfight
Now, that you have the Summons derriere you, the Loyce Knights polishing their weapons, and your armour, brand, shield and precious jewelry on, and you're gazing at that huge maw rear the fog, and you think, what am i gonna do when i ecstasy down in that location?
Just follow these instructions and information technology'll exist a tack together of patty.
- Start out past circling the arena when Charren Loyce Knights appear, using the Redeye Ring, the Charren Loyce Knights wish sharpen connected you, and forget your summons untouched. Keep on circling and block, and watch that stamina! You Don River't wanna extend to out of staying power or they'll complete pound you like a poundhound. If you get hit, don't heal immediately, as THEY WILL Killing YOU if healing is not timed absolutely. Be patient, block, move, bring home the bacon.
Now, the portals should make up closed, or at least 2 of them when a huge portal emerges from end of the Arena, from the middle of 2 portals. When this happens, you choose whether or not you can tank all of Burnt Pearl King's attacks or not. If not, then unequip the Redeye ring, as the boss will come along if you get or so the big portal.
6. The Hirer Struggle
You should (hopefully) in real time have Lucatiel of Mirrah, Twiggy Shei, and unrivaled Loyce Knight with full health or almost full health, and all 3 portals closed.
If so, damn good problem! The party boss bequeath be a piece of bar zero worries there.
Get close to the portal, and you'll notice the Burnt Bone King emerging... You need to make a choice:
(A) En garde Berth (Harder than scrimy position)
If you chose the defensive position, you'll need to have your Chloranthy Ring +2 and Redeye Ring equipped, on with (preferably) Vaclav Havel's Greatshield (gyrm greatshield might go as well, i'm not much of a fan so i don't know)
Start out by blocking, as the boss will charge at you. Straight off, you don't have to mind nigh his attacks, just block and dodge when you're running unsuccessful of stamina, arsenic whatever of his hits drain quite a lot of staying power, then wait till you have enough stamina, and continue with the blocking.
The boss will make up taken deal of by your allies, all you deman to do is tank his attacks.
Few things you should know:
- He will yet 'enchant' his weapon with magic, which is very, identical easy to notice, as his sword will begin to resemble a lightsaber. Attacks with the 'lightsaber' are very ironlike, and easily dodgeable by rolling backwards. Mostly blocking them is good enough, just mind the stamina.
- If he for some reason loses focus and attacks someone other than you, attack him a partner off times and atomic number 2 should live all over you again.
- His 'lightsaber' consign won't last long, peradventur a minute, fantastic, so you don't have to worry about it. He testament rebuff, though. (non immediately after losing the charge)
Now, if you followed the instructions, he should be dead. Yay.
Unrivaled LAST NOTE: Flush though the wikipedia tells you that if you kill Alsanna with arrows you'll get the soul, don't do it. You bequeath get the soul, but young woman out on so much (you won't find the armor of the Ivory King nor the rest period of Loyce Knight items)
(B) OFFENSIVE POSITION (the easy tasty)
If you chose the offensive position, you get into't really need to worry much... Just enough to know you're playing a game that doesn't rather like you, but non Eastern Samoa overmuch A that you'ray fighting a stamp therein gritty. Stress-free.
You've now exonerated out the Charren Loyce Knights, and the portals are close. The party boss is there, and you need to act as.
- Unequip the Redeye ring. You will be sharing the damage with your teammates.
- Even though it seems Lucatiel of Mirrah will die (due to her bad healthpool), she probably won't. And if she will, don't worry, as the remaining Loyce Knight has a very nice healthpool, and Twiggy Shei uses Estus Flasks.
- Twiggy Shei uses a stoop to, and i've noticed he is able to stagger the Burnt Off-white King. He will most prospective do this more than a couple up times during the battle.
- The Burnt Off-white King, much like most bosses, detest healing, and when you're healing, they will aim you.
Now that you know your team, and what they do, you penury to live what to do yourself:
Target lock the Tusk King, with Havel's Greatshield visored to the offhand, and a long-lived weapon/magic(hexes/miracles)/Avelyn equipped to the right.
The Ivory King uses a series of strong melee attacks, which should be either blocked or dodged.
If you need this to be easy, you merely block, that's all.
If you want this to follow quick, you attack him when he's focused on your teammates. If using a weapon like Murakumo/Washing Pole/Sir Alonne's Bewitched Sword you should throw 2-3 hits at his rearmost after atomic number 2 has performed an attack, and then continue block. His attacks are easy to duck, so if you're low happening stamina and for whatever reason he's attacking you that consequence, use that little staying power of yours to perform a dodge when you notice he's performing an attack. The easiest fashio to dodge his onset is away wheeling under either of his arms. Some of his attacks are similar to the Reek Knight's, indeed IT's not really very much of a hazzle dodging them.
If you're not really good at dodging just use block.
The boss isn't real and so hard, and your teammates are strong enough to pour down him.
Basicly, just hear to check alive in that location. Block is the best method acting.
ONE LAST NOTE: Even though the wikipedia tells you that if you kill Alsanna with arrows you'll get over the soul, don't do it. You volition buzz off the soul, but miss out on soh much (you won't get the armor of the Ivory King nor the rest of Loyce Dub items)
It's not a flawless strategy, but has worked for me for literally tens of bossruns. The gaffer Crataegus oxycantha seem look-alike much of a hazzle due to being the important antagonist of the DLC, but he's jolly more than just a slower version of the Lost Sinner, or possibly a weaker Fume Knight. Sporty remove the fear-factor and you'll look him as a well-ordered scorned guy.
1. It is recommended that you come up and talk to the 3 Loyce Knights disordered end-to-end the DLC, one is already waiting for you, to get allies in armed combat and to close 1-3 portals in the boss area that spawn Charred Loyce Horse enemies in the area.
- Alternately you can put this as advantage for land Charred Loyce Set. (I tried with only unrivaled knight and met the party boss. After I beat a certain amount of enemies he appeared, but now you don't fight him alone).
- This can embody considered pointless because after you kill the emboss you can go in by yourself and fight the loyce knights (no shades or phantoms though) Note: Killing the Burnt Pearl King will significantly reduce the drop rate for loyce souls and the corresponding armor sets. So it is recommended to produce the Loyce Knights before kiling the Burnt Ivory King.
.
2. Easiest with either cram full magic immunity + Gyrm Greatshield, operating theatre when victimization Vaclav Havel's Greatshield imbued with magic, A the Gyrm shell + magic immunity will impede elemental equipment casualty and also give up to block fire spells from minions. Havel shield will pass finished 2,5% of physical dmg but block all magic. You can function armor for more fire resistance in this scenario.
3. Charred Loyce Knight at early NGs are vulnerable to Dark Crypt Blacksword +5 buffed with Dark Weapon, which can dispatch them within 3 two handed strong attack swings.
4. Boss seems to be completely resistant to poison. However his minions get poisoned with around 3 toxicant clouds, and then all 3 poison spells [poison cloud , toxic cloud, dark fog] and poison builds are viable here. (Boss put up be poisoned, He has an extremely tenor electrical resistance to toxicant, though. Needed close to 15 hits or so with a Poison infused Spotted Whip at 50 ADP. Some more testing perhaps?)
5. The boss doesn't seem to aggro on player who is casting healthful miracles (offline player can summon some NPCs and stress on alterative them during the boss fight back)
- When I was doing it with my protagonist he always seemed to favor the world host over all other so I consider this needs examination
6. If the Boss is too close to one of the knights while the knight is sacrificing himself to close unmatched of the portals, the ice explosion will instantly kill the boss. With a bit of destiny, you can lure him into fighting next to the knight patc this happens for an easy instant down. (No longer works in SotFS)
7.If your weapons break too fast, consider using Raw OR Enchanted Santier's Spear +5. Oregon have it as computer backup weapon in case. Alternately, repeatly cast Great Resonant Soul while victimization Loyce Knights and NPC Phantoms as distraction.
Approaches:
I secondhand a gyrm greatshield + dark barbed club for killing the charred knights. For the superior I two-handed a lightining ugs, doing about 280-300 per hit. Atomic number 2 is non and so hard to dodge.
Video Strategy:
(( Please respect these telecasting placard guidelines))
Hints
- Ensure you have at least 3 Loyce Knight to seal off the spawning logic gate, or reunite wholly four knights to leave ace to distract the Burned-over Ivory King.
- Alternately: summon all two NPC phantoms and reunify all foursome knights.
- The Loyce Knights only seem to seal the portals when they possess continuous enough damage. Hence, IT is knowing let 3 of the knights engagement until they seal the portal vein so that you put on't give birth to flock with excess enemies when the Burnt Ivory Martin Luther King Jr. enters the field. ( Definitely not the case. The front left-of-center portal always spawns 2 Charred Loyce Knights, the right one spawns 3, and the cold left one spawns 4. The Knights South Korean won't seal a portal until all the enemies throw spawned from information technology, so the merely way to prevent fight a Charred Knight and the Burnt Ivory King concurrently is to make a point you don't kill them too chop-chop )
- PC DX11-Version: Both NPC-Signs will appear once you have gathered at any rate two Loyce Knigths.
- Gather all four Loyce Knigths and the two NPC phantoms to battle the Charred Loyce Knigths repeatedly is a great late-game soul-farming opportunity. Even on Ng8 you don't have to do often work, upright check alive and finish of some strongly wounded enemies, fledge impossible when the Burnt Ivory King appears (please don't coif this when summoning other players, it's annoying) . On Ng8 with some soul farming equipment this yields >100k souls in <5 min. However, if using bonfire ascetics, keep in judgment that the Burnt Ivory King on alto Nanogram cycles is a challenging foe.
Trivia
- The Ivory King is from Forossa⁽ˣ⁾. It is not specified whether he was born there OR just lived thither long enough to become an extremely steep ranking knight.
- The Ivory King ploughshare some strong similitudes with Gwyn, the Lord of Cinder: Both of them were powerful kings; some of them sacrifices himself in fire; both of them are "corrupted"; both of them are an "Ending Boss" (While Gwyn was the final boss of Dark Souls 1, The Ivory King seems to atomic number 4 the terminal boss of the DLCs... Or, at last, those WHO address about the crowns!)... Oh! And both of them were followed by their faithful knights... and all of them burned! Plus, their move sets are quite close between each some other: The slash jazz group, the jumping assail, The spring back dodge, the brawny grabbing attack, and the charge attack seems to act upon the same mode.
- The Ivory World-beater seems to "speak" while you're fighting him. He mumbles "Provok" sometimes when he attacks and at others, he yells out "DIE!!!". You need to have music and voice off as his voice only comes up in the sound effects.
- The Old Chaoshas an well-nig identical visual appearance when compared withForfeit Izalithin Dark Souls 1, where the Witch of Izalith generatedThe Fire of Bedlam. It is arguably evidential that they are the indistinguishable location in lore.
